Manage custom fields on the quote request form

Our app allows you to enhance the Quote Request form by adding custom form fields tailored to your business needs. These fields can capture additional information from customers, such as project details, or delivery instructions during the quote request process. 


Each custom field can be configured by name, input type, and whether it is required. This guide will walk you through how to create, manage, and display these custom fields within the quote request workflow.


Create new field

1. Navigate to the Custom Form Fields page and select the New Field button

2. Enter name of the field, select the field type, set the display order and select whether the field should be required and hidden.

3. Press Save

Available Field Types

Text String
Allows the customer to enter a single line of text (short text).


Textbox Multiple
Allows the customer to enter multiple lines of text (long text).


Dropdown
Allows the customer to select a single option from a drop down list.


Check List
Allows the customer to select multiple options from a list.


Radio List
Allows the customer to select a single option from a list.


Address
A special field type that allows customer to enter an address. the address field can validate the address entered to ensure that it is correct. the address field type has additional options that can be set.


  • Default Country: Sets the initial value of the country field.
  • Shipping Address: Will be used to calculate tax and shipping options. This address is also saved to the order as the shipping address
  • Billing Address: This address will be saved to the order as the billing address
  • Other Address: A generic address field that does not have address validation. 
  • Include Company Name Field: If selected, the address will also include a company name field. If the user enters a company name, the address is considered a business address. If there is no company name entered, the address will be considered a residential address.


Date
Allows the customer to select a date from a date picker.

Editing a field

1. Navigate to the Custom Form Fields page

2. Press ... button

3. Select Edit

4. Update fields

5. Press Save

Deleting a field

1. Navigate to the Custom Form Fields page

2. Press ... button

3. Select Delete

4. Confirm that you want to delete the field. This action is irreversible.

Deleting a field does not remove the field or date from existing quotes.
